Helen Bergeim Westphal was one of the contributors to the book "History of emigration from Nordmøre – Stangvik and Surnadal Parish (Norway))" - Part IV - published in 1986 by Dordi Glærum Skuggevik.

Beloved wife of 61 years to Richard Westphal Sr. Cherished mother of Jeanne Kahn, Richard Westphal Jr., Joe (Vera) Westphal, and Christopher Westphal.

Devoted grandmother of Jennifer (David) Kahn-Pettigrew, Samantha Westphal, and Ryan Westphal.

Great-grandmother of Ruby and Cassidy Kahn-Pettigrew.

Sister of Jeanne Henderson and Mary Jo (Jerry) Helfenstein. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Helen was very active in the Milwaukee Music Community as a professional drummer. She was one of the founders of the first all female dance band, the Melodettes. Helen performed with the USO bands during WWII and was a lifetime member of the Milwaukee Musicians Association.

Helen came from a family of musical talent; her father was Joseph Bergeim, an internationally known composer and conductor. She graduated from North Division High School and Marquette University.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Fri., July 3, at ST. ROBERT PARISH, 2200 E. Capitol Dr., Milwaukee, from 9-10 AM. Memorial Mass at 10 AM with her godson Rev. James T. Bretzke, S.J. officiating.
